SC CPO SI Selection Process

The SSC CPO SI Selection Process has the following stages. 

1: Paper 1 Written Exam 

2: Physical Endurance Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST)

3: Paper 2 written exam 

4: Medical Examination 

5: Document Verification Process 

SSC CPO Paper 1

The SSC CPO SI Paper 1 Exam consists of four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

  • The paper 1 exam will be of objective multiple choice type.
  • There are a total of 50 questions from each section and each question carries one mark.
  • The exam is conducted for a total of 200 marks.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrongly answered question.
  • The time duration of the exam is 2 hours.

Computer Based Test(CBT)

The examination duration and number of questions for CBT are indicated below:

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature. The criterion for PET is as under: 

Male candidatesFemale candidates

1. 100 metre race in 16 seconds 

2. 1.6 Kms race in 6.5 minutes 

3. Long Jump: 3.65 metre in 3 chances 

4. High Jump: 1.2 metre in 3 chances 

5. Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metre in 3 chance

1. 100 metre race in 18 seconds 

2. 800 metre race in 4 minutes 

3. Long Jump: 2.7 metre in 3 chances 
4. High Jump: 0.9 metre in 3 chances.

Document Verification and Medical Examination:

Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, candidates twice the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options. 

These additional candidates will, however, be considered for empanelment only if there is a shortfall in empanelment from the merit list or/and as replacement against the shortfall on account of not joining recommended candidates in the working post or/and any other special requirements.

SSC CPO SI Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

  1. A candidate must have Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised University.
  2. For the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (only) – Male candidates must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motor cycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.

Age Limit :

  1. Age limit of the candidates should be from 20 to 25 years as on 01-01-2021 i.e. Candidates born not before 02-01-1996 and not later than 01-01-2001).
  2. Permissible relaxation in upper age limit relaxation will be as follows:

How to Apply Online for SSC CPO SI

Applications are required to be submitted in online mode only at the official website of SSC Headquarters i.e. https://ssc.nic.in

Application Process: 

As the first step, candidates need to register themselves on the official website of the Commission. For the same, candidates can follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Applications should be submitted in online mode only through the official website - https://ssc.nic.in
  • Now click on the "Apply Online" Link under “RECRUITMENT OF SUB-INSPECTOR IN DELHI POLICE, CAPFs, AND ASSISTANT SUB-INSPECTOR IN CISF EXAMINATION, 2020-21
  • Applicants need to upload the scanned & colour passport size photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50KB).
  • Before final submission of the SSC CPO SI online form, applicants must cross check that they have filled correct details in every field of the form as after submission of the application form, no further changes/ correction/ modification shall be entertained under any circumstances.

Fee Structure

  • Fee payable: Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
  • Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from paying fee.
