RRB Group D Selection Process

The Examination will be conducted in three stages as follows: 

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  3. Document Verification and Medical Examination
  4. Computer Based Test (CBT)

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates shall be called for PET will be three times the community-wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs/RRCs. Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature. The criterion for PET is as under: 

Male candidatesFemale candidates

Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down ; and 

Should be able to run a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.

Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and 

Should be able to run a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance. 

Document Verification and Medical Examination:

Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, candidates twice the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.

RRB Group D Exam Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

"Candidates who had completed Class 10 from an institution recognized by NCVT/SCVT or had National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) provided by NCVT were eligible to apply. Diploma/Degree in Engineering was not accepted in lieu of the course completed under Act Apprenticeship/ITI"

 Age Criteria (As on 01-07-2019)

A candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of more than 33 years. The relaxation of the upper age limit / maximum upper age for different  categories/communities is only effective if the required certificates are submitted.

How to Apply Online for RRB Group D Exam

Once the RRB Group D Notification is released, candidates will be able to apply online for the exam on the official website of the Commission i.e. https://rrbcdg.gov.in

 Application Process: 

As the first step, candidates need to register themselves on the official website of the Commission. For the same, candidates can follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Visit the official website of RRB Group D Exam - https://rrbcdg.gov.in
  • Click on the ‘New User? Register Now’ link
  • Fill the registration form
  • Click on the Submit button
  • Note down the system-generated registration ID
  • Complete the application form with required details.

Fee Structure 

Candidates applying for the posts in this CEN have to pay the prescribed fee as per their  category detailed below:

1. For all candidates except the fee concession categories mentioned below at Sl.No.2 Out of this fee of 500 an amount of 400 shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in CBT500/-
2. For PwBD / Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class. *This fee of 250 shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in CBT. 250/-

Ans. Yes, wrong answers will cost ⅓ negative marks.

A. Admit Cards will be released 7 days before the exam dates.

Q. How many times can the RRB Group D Exam be attempted?

A. There is no limit to how many times can examination be attempted as long the eligibility criteria fulfilled.
