The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr.YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched an application named ‘ACB 14400’ with the objective to curb corruption at government offices in the State.
The application was developed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Through this application, the people can lodge corruption-related complaints against officials in the State. The application is currently available only on Google PlayStore.
Previously, people of the state could file a complaint through the toll-free number - 14400, but people cant submit the evidence on it. Due to a lack of evidence, the ACB could not be able to solve cases.
Through the new mobile application, people can attach proof like audio or video documents, while reporting a case of corruption.
If money was demanded by an official at the government offices, the aggrieved should raise an alarm through the ACB app by pressing a button, which instantly transmits the audio recording or video footage to the ACB officials who would, in turn, directly report to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Once, the complaint is lodged, a reference ID will be sent to the user’s mobile phone. The complaint will go to the special branch of the ACB and a case will be registered against the official & staff. The corrupted officials will be detained or the action will be initiated.
Officials are planning to conduct seminars at the district, municipality, Mandal and panchayat levels through the village and ward secretariat system to spread awareness about the mobile application.
