Shooter Avani Lekhara of India Won the Gold Medal at the Para Shooting World Cup 2022

Shooter Avani Lekhara of India won the gold medal at the Para Shooting World Cup 2022 under women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 in France. In the tournament, Emilia Babska of Poland won the silver medal and Anna Normann of Sweden won the bronze medal.

She won the gold medal with a world record score of 250.6. She broke her own world record of 249.6 to secure her a spot at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.

SH1 category is for athletes with lower limb impairment for competition in rifle events.

Sriharsha Devaraddi Ramakrishna of India became the second Indian para shooter to secure a gold medal in the mixed 10m air rifle SH2 event. In this category, Francek Tirsek of Slovakia and Tanguy De La Forest bagged the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In the mixed team, Manish Narwal and Rubina Francis of India won the gold medal at the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup 2022 under the 10m P6 air pistol category. It is India’s third gold medal at the event.
