The Indian government signed three Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with Senegal after delegation-level talks between the Vice President of India and the President of Senegal in the capital city of Dakar.
The agreement was signed during the Indian Vice-President’s 3-nation tour of Gabon, Senegal and Qatar. This is the first-ever high-level Indian visit to Senegal.
The MoUs were signed with the objective of cultural exchange, cooperation in youth matters and a visa-free regime for officials.

The Indian Vice-President assured our country’s commitment to supporting the socio-economic development of Senegal. During the last fiscal year FY22, the trade between India and Senegal was raised by 37% to 1.5 billion dollars.
The Indian government looking at the possibility to work closely with Senegal within the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the One Sun One World One Grid initiative.
