Ms.Sheryl Sandberg stepped down as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Meta (formerly known as Facebook). She joined the company in 2008 and was serving as the COO of the social media company for 14 years.
She will be replaced by Mr.Javier Olivan as the next Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Meta.
As a COO, she was second in command and took many key decisions at the company. Her command includes several early important hirings and also helped build Facebook’s mammoth advertising business.
Before joining Facebook, she had previously worked at search engine giant Google, where she helped build its advertising and sales business. She was the one who expanded search engine’s AdWords and AdSense projects.
Sheryl Sandberg architected Facebook’s ads business, hired great people, forged a management culture and taught him how to run a company. She notes that when she joined Facebook, the company had little advertising and made the company profitable by 2010. With her work, Facebook went from 70 million users to nearly 700 million in the three years she joined.
Sheryl Sandberg, a Harvard-educated executive had joined Facebook in 2008 when it was still just a start-up. Sandberg played a formative role in the development of the social media giant into a multi-billion dollar advertising empire.
