PM Modi Unveils PM Cares for Children Scheme

The benefits under the 'PM Cares for Children' scheme were released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. under the scheme, the government that the children will get Rs.4000 per month as financial assistance for their daily needs.

The scheme was launched after the second wave of COVID-19 which benefits those children who lost their parents to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Under the scheme, an eligible child is entitled to receive Rs 10 lakh once he or she turns twenty-three. And also, the children will receive financial help for their education, health and a monthly stipend from the age of 18 years.

In the programme, a passbook for the 'PM Cares for Children' scheme, and a health card for treatment up to Rs 5 lakh under 'Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana' were handed over to the beneficiaries. 

For daily needs, Rs 4,000 has been allocated every month through other schemes and will also help children in getting an education loan for professional courses or higher education.

Out of a total 9,042 applications, about 4300 orphaned children have been approved as eligible for benefits. It was approved through an online portal, a single-window system.
