A brainstorming session ‘Mission Digital India BHASHINI’ was organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship addressed the session.
The Mission is aimed to create and nurture an ecosystem involving Central, State government agencies and start-ups to develop and deploy innovative products and services in Indian languages.
Startups are an essential component of our digital ecosystem, and this Mission Digital India Bhashini will support such start-ups in developing India-specific and Indian Languages enabled IT solutions. The Bhashini Platform will make AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) resources available to MSMEs, startups, and individuals.
The mission has the objective to empower the Indian citizens by linking them to the country’s digital initiatives in their local language, resulting in digital inclusion. Through the Bhashini platform, the government aims to increase content in Indian languages on the internet.
Multilingualism provides a significant potential for businesses to build novel solutions and products that can serve all Indian citizens, regardless of their native language.
