The state government of Rajasthan approved a proposal to amend various service rules to do away with the requirement of job interviews for most services. The CM approved eliminating the interviews for government jobs.
It was based on a state cabinet’s amendment of 44 service rules related to interviews for recruiting state government employees. The decision has been taken to make the recruitment process transparent and to clear doubts of candidates.
As per the new amendment, the interview will continue for the posts under the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services (Direct Recruitment by Combined Competitive Examination) Rules, 1999, and some other posts.
Candidates will no longer be interviewed for recruitments made by commissions/boards/appointing authorities for posts falling under the service rules.
The interview process will be conducted for the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) and for four other services. Other than these five posts, there are no interviews to recruit employees. This interview process requires communication skills. As per the new amendment, the weightage of the interview will be a maximum of 10% of the total marks.
