The list drawn up by TIME magazine of the world’s 100 most influential people of 2022 is released. The list is titled TIME100: The Most Influential People of 2022. The list has six categories – Icons, Pioneers, Titans, Artists, Leaders, and Innovators.
Supreme Court lawyer Karuna Nundy, business tycoon Gautam Adani and prominent Kashmiri human rights activist Khurram Parvez have been named in the 2022 list. Adani has been named under the Titans category along with Apple CEO Tim Cook and American host Oprah Winfrey. Nundy and Parvez found their place under the Leaders category along with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukraine counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Karuna Nundy, an Indian lawyer and activist has clinched a spot on this list for championing women’s rights, advocating reforms of antirape laws in the wake of the 2012 Delhi rape, and relentlessly fighting cases related to sexual harassment in the workplace, as well as repeatedly bringing up this important issue in public discourse. Gautam Adani finds a spot on this list for his company's work on ‘solar and thermal power, consumer goods as well as airport and private ports.
