The first Aatmanirbhar 5G call in the country was made by the Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Mr.Ashwini Vaishnaw. The 5G network was successfully tested at the trial network set up at IIT Madras using the indigenously developed technology.
It is the Aatmanirbhar facility as the entire end-to-end network is designed and developed in India. It was developed as per the vision of a self-reliant India.
Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched a 5G Test Bed. It was developed as a collaborative project at a cost of more than Rs 220 crores by a total of eight institutes led by IIT Madras. This ‘Test Bed’ will enable a supportive ecosystem for Indian industry and startups which will help them validate their products, prototypes, solutions, and algorithms in 5G and next-generation technologies.
The union government will invest Rs 2000 crore in a few Railway stations in Tamil Nadu to maintain the heritage and develop them as the World-Class railway station. The stations were Chennai Egmore, Madurai, Katpadi Junction, Rameswaram, and Kanyakumari.
