Ms.Nidhi Chibber, a senior IAS officer has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The order for her appointment was issued by the Ministry of Personnel.
She is a 1994 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, is currently serving as the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
She replaced Mr.Vineet Joshi. The appointment was made in a top-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the Centre.
A 1993 batch IAS officer Mr.Vivek Kumar Dewangen has been named Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), REC Ltd., Ministry of Power. Currently, he is currently serving as the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power.
Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Mr.S Gopalakrishnan has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India that was established in 1929 for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of India. There are approximately 26,054 schools in India and 240 schools in 28 foreign countries affiliated with the CBSE.
