In the final match, India defeated 14-time champions Indonesia with a score of 3-0. At the prestigious team championship, with this win, India won the gold medal while Indonesia won the silver medal. Denmark and Japan finished with the bronze medal.
In the 73-year-long badminton history, India reached the final match after defeating Denmark in the semi-final match. In another semi-final match, Indonesia defeated Japan to qualify for the finals.
In the finals, the country's best doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated Indonesia’s Mohammad Ahsan and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo by 18-21 23-21 21-19. India’s Srikanth won against Asian Games gold medallist Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in the singles category.
The women's team crashed out of the tournament after being defeated by Thailand in the quarter-final match.
For the third time, Thailand is the host country of the 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup. It is the 32nd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 29th edition of the Uber Cup.
