A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and DP World of UAE. As per the agreement, Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi to get the first Skill India International Centre.
The agreement was signed after the bilateral discussion between India’s Union Minister of Education and UAE minister Dr. Ahmad Belhoul. India is being considered a valuable partner to the United Arab Emirates and other countries across the world.
The first skill Indian International centre will provide high-quality training to the Indian youth to skill them in related to various fields like logistics and port operations and other allied areas to pursue overseas employment.
The centres would host training facilities which provide the skills as per the demand of the international employers in countries like the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Canada, Australia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regions.
The Centre would also have a wide network of partner organisations and overseas recruiters to facilitate the supply of skilled and certified workforce in other countries.
The centres would offer services such as mobilisation, counselling, skill training, pre-departure orientation, foreign language training, placement and immigration and post-placement support.
