Former Indian Captain Virat Kohli, Became the First Player to Face 5000 Balls in IPL

Former Team India Captain Virat Kohli became the first player to face 5000 balls in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

He achieved the feat against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 49th match of the IPL 2022 at the MCA International Stadium in Pune.

He was followed by Shikhar Dhawan (4810 balls), Rohit Sharma (4429 balls), David Warner (4062 balls), and Suresh Raina (4042 balls).

Earlier, MS Dhoni - CSK captain - has become the first cricketer to play 200 IPL matches for the Chennai Super Kings team i.e. for the same franchise. In total, Dhoni played 230 matches in the IPL but he played 30 of those for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016 and 2017. The four-time champion CSK won the championship for the first time in 2010.

Previously Virat Kohli is the first Cricketer to play 200 matches for the same franchise. He played 218 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore so far since the inception of the league in 2008.
