The ‘Operation Satark’ was recently launched by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) to take action against illicit liquor/FICN/illegal tobacco products/unaccounted gold/cash/precious items/ any other items being transported through the railway network for the purpose of tax evasion/smuggling/commission of crime/acts of terror.
RPF launched this scheme by awaring its responsibility as the first responder in cases of smuggling through rail.
The focused efforts taken under this were successful as it helped to track the illegal activities;
RPF took concerted action in such cases and seized smuggled items worth about Rs.3.18 Crores during the period mentioned above.
Under “Operation Nanhe Farishte”, RPF identify and rescue children who are lost or separated from their family. Till March 31, 2022, about 5000 children were rescued by the Railway Police Force.
