A successful CEO Mr Nand Mulchandani has been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States of America. He becomes the first-ever Indian-American CTO of this agency.
This announcement was made by the Director Mr William J Burns. CIA is the world’s premier foreign intelligence organisation.
The new post of CTO was created by the CIA earlier this summer. As the CTO, he will ensure the agency is leveraging cutting-edge innovations and scanning the horizon for tomorrow’s innovations to further the CIA’s mission.
Mr Nand Mulchandani had more than 25 years of experience working in Silicon Valley as well as with the US department of defence. Previously, he has served as the CTO and acting director of DoD’s joint artificial intelligence centre. He also co-founded and was CEO of several successful start-ups– Oblix, Determine, OpenDNS and ScaleXtreme.
The Central Intelligence Agency is a civilian foreign intelligence service of the United States of America that was founded in 1947. It was headquartered in Virginia, the U.S. Its primary purpose is to collect, analyze, evaluate, and disseminate foreign intelligence, and to carry out covert operations.
