Left-handed opener batsman of Punjab Kings (PBKS) Shikhar Dhawan, achieved a new milestone in his career in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Shikhar Dhawan is the second batsman to reach 6,000 runs in the history of IPL along with 45 fifties in 200 matches. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli of was the first to score 6000 runs in IPL.
He achieved this 6000-runs mark with a single-off Maheesh Theekshana on the first ball of the second over of the Punjab innings. Dhawan reached this milestone while playing against Ravindra Jadeja-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
The top scorer of the IPL is Virat Kohli of RCB with 6,402 runs in 215 matches with 42 fifties and five 100s and with a strike rate of 129.81. He was followed by Shikhar Dhawan (6086 runs), Rohit Sharma (5,764 runs), David Warner (5,668 runs) and Suresh Raina (5,528 runs).
In the 15th edition of IPL, Dhawan is playing for Punjab Kings who was bought for Rs 8.25 crore during the mega auction.
