BANKING AND ECONOMY
The state government of West Bengal and E-Commerce platform ‘Flipkart’ signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to train and support local artisans, weavers and handicraft makers. Flipkart signed the agreement with the state’s micro, small and medium enterprises and textiles department.
These peoples (local artisans, weavers and handicraft makers) will be trained and supported to leverage the e-commerce platform to scale up their businesses nationally.
This partnership will enhance commercial and social development in the state with the development of artisans, weavers, small businesses and MSMEs by providing access to opportunities that e-commerce enables. Under this new partnership, the Flipkart will provide a time-bound incubation support and training benefits to underserved communities.
Flipkart is passionate about the sellers’ growth, building an inclusive e-commerce ecosystem and constantly innovating to find new ways to uplift and empower all sections of society.
Flipkart is an Indian e-commerce company, headquartered in Bangalore, India, and incorporated in Singapore as a private limited company.
