With an aim to boost the immunity in the body, the Haryana government provides free booster Covid-19 vaccine doses to the eligible population in the age group of 18-59 years in government hospitals. The allocated budget for this project is Rs.300 crore from the Covid Relief Fund. It will benefit around 1.2 crore population in the state.
Previously, the neighboring Delhi government and Bihar government also announced a free booster Covid-19 vaccine doses to the eligible population in the age group of 18-59 years.
The booster dose boosts the immunity in the body by activating the memory cells to produce more antibodies against Covid.
Since April 10, the Union government allowed the rollout of booster doses for all adults above the age of 18. The booster is currently priced at Rs 250 plus service charges (up to Rs.150). All those who are more than 18 years of age and have completed nine months after the administration of the second dose, would be eligible for the precaution dose.
