Inequality Kills Report


  • A new report ‘Inequality kills’ was released by Oxfam ahead of the World Economic Forum’s Davos Agenda.
  • According to the report, globally about 263 million more people pushed into extreme poverty due to rise in price, high unemployment rate and and inequality.
  • This will take the total no. of people in the extreme poverty is about 860 million people.
  • Since the pandemic, at one hand about 3.3 billion people across the world are living below the poverty line, on the other hand about for every 26 hours a new person becomes a billionaire.
  • As per the data of the report, India has the third highest number of billionaires in the world, just behind China and the United States.
