Germany Will Get Weaponised Drones


  • After years of debate, Germany will get weaponized drones for the first time after years of debate for the purpose of military observation in regions of the country.
  • In 2018, the German Parliament of the country approved the usage of Non-weaponised drones.
  • The government approved and signed an agreement worth 152.6 million euros ($165 million) with Israel to purchase 140 missiles in the next two years.
  • The armed drones will be used for both training and operational deployment purpose.
  • The other deals which are under process include 35 F-35 fighter jets from the United States, and 15 Eurofighter jets from a consortium that includes Airbus, an anti-missile shield system from Israel.
