The ‘Vinaya Samarasya Yojana’ will be introduced by the state government of Karnataka on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti (April 14).
The scheme was announced with an objective to eradicate untouchability across the state.
The scheme has been named after a three-year-old Dalit Vinay. His family members were displaced last year as they were imposed a fine of Rs.25000 for the boy’s “offence” of straying into a local temple.
The scheme was included in the recently announced Karnataka Budget for 2022-23.
