CJI Launched Faster Software

  • A digital platform ‘Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records’ (FASTER) was launched by the Chief Justice of India.
  • The platform was developed by the Registry of the Supreme Court in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre.
  • The platform was launched with an aim to communicate interim orders, stay orders, bail orders etc., of the Supreme Court through a secured electronic communication channel.
  • Through this, the apex court will transmit the Record of Proceedings or Orders to the concerned Nodal Officers and duty holders through e-mail. For this, 1887 e-mail IDs were created for this system across the country.

  • The National Informatics Centre (NIC) was established in 1976.
  • NIC functions under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
