Pakistan Punjab CM Usman Bazdar resign ahead of trust vote against PM Imran Khan

  • Chief Minister of Pakistan's Punjab Mr. Sardar Usman Buzdar (PML-Q party) submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
  • The resignation was submitted at a time when a no-confidence motion moved by opposition lawmakers in a bid to remove the PM of Pakistan.
  • Mr. Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, was appointed as the new Chief Minister of the Punjab province. He was selected by the PM of Pakistan.
  • PML-Q is a key ally of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in the Centre and in Pakistan's Punjab.
