A Cost-Effective Technology for Carbon-Neutral Environment

  • Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati joined hands with the NTPC.
  • The partnership was formed with an objective to design and develop a highly energy-efficient CO2 collection system from power plants.
  • It was developed by the research team led by Prof. Bishnupada Mandal of IIT Guwahati's Department of Chemical Engineering.
  • The outcomes of this project will benefit oil, natural gas, biogas industries, petroleum refineries and also helps to save the forex of India.
  • This newly developed technology is a cost-effective and energy-efficient amine-based approach for CO2 extraction from flue gas.
