The Union Government has approved to set up a National Recruitment Agency (NRA) to conduct the Common Eligibility Test (CET) as a first stage screening for the recruitment to the non gazetted posts in SSC, IBPS, and RRB.

NRA CET Graduate Level Selection Process

NRA CET is all set to replace the Tier 1/preliminary exams for SSC, RRB, and IBPS government jobs. The first-ever NRA CET is expected to be held in September 2021. 

The selection process of the various government posts through the Common Eligibility Test for Graduates is as follows:

  • Firstly, you need to qualify for the CET exam for graduates to get shortlisted for the next round of the recruitment process.
  • After qualifying for the exam, you will have to appear for the next round of the selection process conducted by SSC, IBPS, and RRB.

NRA CET Graduate Level Syllabus 

The detailed NRA CET exam pattern, subjects, marking scheme, and exam duration has not been released yet. It is expected that the Common Eligibility Test will include four sections namely: 

  1. Quantitative Aptitude
  2. English Language
  3. General Awareness
  4. Reasoning

Based on these exams the aptitude of a candidate will be judged. It is assumed that the Common Entrance Test exam pattern would also be similar to other exams and would not be too far-fetched.

NRA CET Graduate Level Eligibility Criteria

The tentative eligibility criteria for graduate-level CET is judged based on four parameters:

  • Education Qualification – Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
  • Age Limit – 18 to 30/32 years
  • Nationality – The candidate must be a citizen of India.

The NRA CET recruitment process will contain the following steps:

Step 1: Fill NRA CET application form

As the first step, candidates will have to fill out the NRA CET application form online on the agency's official website. The NRA CET application fee is expected to be nominal and in line with the fee of other SSC/RRB/IBPS recruitment exams.

Candidates might also have the option of scheduling the test and selecting the test center of their choice at this stage of the recruitment process.
Step 2: Download NRA CET admit card

NRA CET admits cards will be released by the National Recruitment Agency on the official website of the exam. It will be mandatory for candidates to carry the NRA CET admit card to the allotted exam center.

Step 3: Appear for NRA CET paper

Next, candidates will have to appear for their respective NRA CET paper online. The NRA CET paper will contain MCQs containing four answer choices with one correct option.

Step 4: Check NRA CET result

NRA CET results will be declared by the agency on the official website of the exam as per the prescribed schedule. The result is likely to be declared in the form of the merit list. The NRA CET score of a candidate will be valid for three years.

Step 5: Appear for the next stages of respective recruitment exams

All shortlisted candidates will then have to appear for the next stages/tiers of their respective recruitment exams. Further, all the tiers will be conducted by the respective recruitment agencies – SSC, RRB, and IBPS.   

NRA CET 2021 Vacancy

NRA CET will be conducted for posts and vacancies released under SSC, RRB, and IBPS. Some of the Tier-I exams that NRA will conduct in the coming months include SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC GD, SSC CPO, SSC MTS, RRB Group-D, RRB NTPC, IBPS PO, and IBPS Clerk.

After considering the existing Tier-I test patterns of SSC, RRB, and IBPS exams, it is expected that NRA CET 2021 exam pattern will be similar to what is mentioned below:

NRA CET Exam Centers 2021

NRA CET exam infrastructure will be conducted in about aspirational 117 districts at over 1,000 exam centers. It is expected to be conducted  in every district of India ensuring ease of access for rural youth, women, and disadvantaged candidates
